Most "GIFs" on porn sites aren't GIF files at all. They're short video clips that play on a loop, and that's good news: saved as an MP4, a clip is a fraction of a real GIF's size and much sharper. Paste a GIF's link in the box above and you get it the way that site keeps it.
Why MP4 and not GIF
The GIF format dates from 1987. It has no sound, shows at most 256 colours per frame and compresses moving pictures poorly, so a few seconds can weigh tens of megabytes. An MP4 of the same clip is far smaller and keeps the colours. Phones, computers and most chat apps play MP4 clips without anything extra.

When you need a real GIF
A real GIF is only worth it where MP4 doesn't work: some forums, older chat apps and image viewers. Pornhub is the one site here that offers GIF as a format. For the others, keep the MP4: it's the same clip in better quality.
Keeping them on your phone
